Team keeps rookie Johnson on roster

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- The Minnesota Vikings signed punter
Leo Araguz on Tuesday, but they decided to keep rookie Eddie
Johnson on the roster despite his recent struggles.

Defensive lineman Cedric Killings, who has been inactive for all
14 games, was released.

Araguz, who was in training camp with Kansas City this year,
hasn't punted in a regular-season game since he was with Detroit in
2001. He spent four seasons with Oakland from 1996-99.

Johnson, the Vikings' sixth-round draft pick out of Idaho State,
is averaging 39.1 yards per punt - 15th in the NFC. He has
mishandled a snap in each of the last three games, including a drop
on Sunday against Chicago that led to a Bears field goal in a 13-10
defeat.
