X-rays negative on Gallery's right elbow

NAPA, Calif. -- Offensive lineman Robert Gallery, the No. 2
overall pick in this year's draft, went down with a hyperextended
right elbow during Monday afternoon's training camp practice for
the Oakland Raiders.

Gallery was taken to a hospital for precautionary tests. X-rays
were negative. Gallery met with a team doctor and later said the
elbow was sprained and that he didn't know how long he would be
sidelined.

"We'll see how it comes along and get back out there when I can
deal with it,'' he said. "It's not a big deal."

Trainer Rod Martin rushed to his side and Gallery yelled in
pain, holding his right elbow.

Gallery was participating in a half-line blocking drill when he
got hurt. He was working with the second-team line, but he's
expected to be the starting left tackle this season.

Gallery didn't start in the Raiders' 33-30 exhibition win over
the San Francisco 49ers on Saturday night, but he played with the
first team.
