Olindo Mare isn't pleased with the way the Dolphins are handling his situation. The kicker isn't keeping quiet about it either.
Mare's future in Miami became murky after the Dolphins signed kicker Jay Feely to a three-year contract on March 8.
"This is heartbreaking for me to leave, but I know it's time and I don't have a choice," Mare said with his agent, Drew Rosenhaus by his side, told the Palm Beach Post. "I just want to get it over with. ... I don't understand the hold-up."
Mare and Rosenhaus told the paper the Dolphins have had trade offers for the kicker, but they can't understand why team officials haven't made a move yet.
"It's embarrassing, that's what it is, that one of the all-time great players in the history of the franchise is being left to float around like this," Rosenhaus told the paper. "This is a deal that should get done in five minutes."
According to the report, Mare has even offered to return his $250,000 roster bonus to help expedite a trade.
Mare made 26 of 36 field goals last season including a season-long kick of 52 yards. He finished the year with 100 points.
