Parker, McMullen signed; Sims tears pectoral muscle

Down four wide receivers because of injuries, the Seattle Seahawks started to reshape their roster to make some moves.

Wednesday, they signed Samie Parker -- a day after officially placing wide receiver Nate Burleson on the injured reserve list. On Sunday in Buffalo, he blew out his ACL. Burleson joins wide receiver Ben Obomanu on the injured reserve list. Deion Branch (knee) and Bobby Engram (collarbone) also remain out because of injuries.

Tuesday, the Seahawks, according to a source, reached an agreement with Billy McMullen, who had been with the Eagles, Vikings and Redskins.

The Seahawks will also be without starting right guard Rob Sims for the rest of the season because of a torn pectoral muscle.

Sims is scheduled for season-ending surgery Thursday after finding an MRI revealed a serious tear of the pectoral. Porkchop Womack is expected to draw the starting assignment in his place. Sims started at left guard last season but the signing of Mike Wahle allowed him to fit more naturally on the right side.

On Tuesday, Seattle worked out six receivers -- Parker, Mark Bradford, Devale Ellis, Mike Hass, Michael Gasperson and McMullen.

The 6-4, 215-pound McMullen was cut by the Redskins on Aug. 30. He played three years with the Eagles and was with the Vikings in 2006. McMullen caught 23 passes with the Vikings in 2005 and 18 with the Eagles in 2005. McMullen didn't have a regular-season job in 2007.

On Tuesday, the Seahawks also released seventh-round choice Justin Forsett, wide receiver Jordan Kent and punter Ryan Plackemeier. Those three roster spots were filled by the signing of punter Jon Ryan and the suspension reinstatements of defensive tackle Rocky Bernard and safety Jordan Babineaux.

The release of Kent leaves them with only two healthy receivers -- Courtney Taylor and Logan Payne.
