Colbert cut after seven catches in seven games for Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks, who traded a fifth-round draft pick to get wide receiver Keary Colbert earlier this season, cut him Tuesday.

Colbert caught only seven passes for 52 yards in seven games as a Seahawk after being acquired from Denver. Seattle was desperate for help at wide receiver when they made the deal. The Broncos will keep the Seahawks' fifth-round pick; Colbert didn't meet any performance-based escalators in his contract.

Koren Robinson had moved ahead of Colbert in the receiver rotation and Colbert's playing time was diminishing by the week. Though he started against the Dolphins, he caught only one pass for 11 yards, his longest completion in a Seahawks uniform.
