Bengals' Maualuga carted off sideline

CINCINNATI -- Rookie Bengals linebacker Rey Maualuga broke his left ankle late in the first quarter against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.

Maualuga limped to the sideline, then was put on a cart and taken for an exam that found the fracture.

The second-round draft pick ouf of Southern California has started every game on a toughened defense that has kept the Bengals in playoff contention. He ranks fourth on the team in tackles and has a sack.
