News: 6 days agoCooks caught nine of 13 targets for 89 yards in Sunday's 31-3 loss to the Colts.
Spin: In what has become a far too familiar game script for the Texans, they got down big and peppered Cooks with targets once the game got out of hand. Garbage time fantasy points count just the same, though, and Cooks has been providing plenty of those. He should continue to play a prominent role in Week 7 against the Cardinals, regardless of whether it's Davis Mills or Tyrod Taylor (hamstring) throwing Cooks the ball.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Cooks has played for four teams in seven NFL seasons and has posted at least one top-17 fantasy campaign at all four stops. That's impressive. The 2014 first-round pick delivered the goods in Houston in 2020, averaging a career-high 24% target share, ranking 12th at the position with a 9.7 YPT and handling a career-high nine end zone targets. Despite some concussion concerns, Cooks has missed a grand total of three regular-season games over the past six seasons. With Will Fuller gone, 27-year-old Cooks is Houston's clear No. 1 WR, but his value could take a hit with Deshaun Watson's future in doubt. Cook has the look of a WR2 with Watson but will be more of a WR3 if Tyrod Taylor is at the controls.
