News: 5 days agoVaughn (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's Week 12 contest against the Chiefs, Scott Smith of the team's official site reports.
Spin: The rookie running back continues to lose out on active status to veteran LeSean McCoy, even though the latter is not seeing any work behind Ronald Jones and Leonard Fournette. Vaughn's next opportunity for game action will come in Week 14 against the Vikings following the Buccaneers' Week 13 bye.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: The Buccaneers selected Vaughn with a third-round pick in April's draft. The Vanderbilt product's FBS efficiency was impressive, as he posted the third-best YAC/forced missed tackle profile in 2019 for this year's rookie class. Vaughn is more fast (4.51 40-yard dash) than quick and is a tough 5-foot-10, 214 pounds. He has the size and ability to eventually contribute as a rusher, as a receiver and at the goal line. Of course, with Leonard Fournette, Ronald Jones and LeSean McCoy ahead of him on the 2020 depth chart, Vaughn is in for a de facto redshirt campaign. He doesn't need to be drafted in most formats.
