News: 4 days agoHodgins caught four of five targets for 40 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 31-28 win over the Cardinals.

Spin: After a quiet season debut marred by a lost fumble, Hodgins came up big for the Giants in a comeback win, hauling in an 11-yard TD strike from Daniel Jones late in the fourth quarter that tied the game at 28-28 and completed a comeback from a first-half 20-0 deficit, setting the stage for Graham Gano's game-winning field goal with 19 seconds left. Hodgins was one of four New York wideouts with multiple catches Sunday -- Parris Campbell, Darius Slayton and rookie Jalin Hyatt were the others -- and the team's crowded depth chart could prevent any one WR from truly breaking out. Hodgins and the others will take on a 49ers secondary Thursday night that just got torched for 15 catches and 147 yards by Rams rookie Puka Nacua.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: Desperate for help at wide receiver, the Giants gave Hodgins, a 2020 sixth-round pick by Buffalo, a long look late last season. It seems they may have found something. Hodgins played significant snaps for the first time in his career in Week 10. Over the next eight weeks, he posted a 33-351-4 receiving line on 41 targets and was 33rd at WR in fantasy PPG (11.5). It was an impressive showing, but it's also hard to pinpoint Hodgins' 2023 role after the team added pass-catchers Darren Waller, Jalin Hyatt and Parris Campbell. Hodgins figures to, at least, play a big early-season role while Wan'Dale Robinson and Sterling Shepard rehab torn ACLs, but he's certainly a wild card, especially after Daniel Jones totaled 15 pass TDs last season. Consider him late in deep leagues.
