SEATTLE -- When the miraculous 28-22 NFC Championship Game comeback victory over the Green Bay Packers had ended, Seattle Seahawks receiver Doug Baldwin had an expletive-filled rant to reporters outside the team's locker room, screaming how the Seahawks proved everyone wrong.
Baldwin used the term m-----f----- several times in front of reporters, including: "Are you ready for this? Are you? How many of you m-----f------ doubted us? How many of you doubted us when we were 3-3? Y'all, I want you to write this down. Write this down, OK?
"When we were 3-3, everyone counted us out. Y'all didn't believe in us. A whole bunch of people thought we weren't going to make it. At 6-4, it was, 'Ah, that's OK. They have a winning record, but they aren't going to make the playoffs.'
"At 16-0 at the half [Sunday], how many of you counted us out? How many of y'all doubted us?"
Baldwin, who is known as "Angry Doug" by his teammates at times for his feelings about not being respected, continued his rant, walking back and forth in front of about 30 reporters.
"It is indicative of our season," said Baldwin, who finished the game with six catches for 106 yards. "Y'all didn't want to believe in us. It's OK. We don't need you to believe. We're going to believe in ourselves. We ain't worried about y'all. We are worried about ourselves.
"When we were down 16-0 at the half, guess what we said? 'Don't trip.' You don't win the game in the first half. You win it in the second half. We did what we do. We played Seahawks football. We got the opportunity to do what we love. And we'll see y'all at the Super Bowl."
A Jan. 18 story on ESPN.com inaccurately quoted Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin. Baldwin used at least three expletives to reporters in an emotional response following the team's NFC Championship Game victory over Green Bay, but two were inaccurately placed in the transcription of quotes in the original story. The story has been updated to reflect the most pertinent of those quotes.
