Veterans Stadium The Eagles have called Veterans Stadium their home field since 1971. But that is about to come to an end. While the Eagles are on pace to host at least one playoff game, Sunday's contest with the Redskins is the last regular season game at the Vet. The Eagles are scheduled to begin play in their new stadium, Lincoln Financial Field, in 2003. The Vet was opened prior to the Phillies' 1971 season and cost over $50 million to build. In 31-plus seasons at the Vet, the Eagles have a record of 141-110-2 (including 6-3 in the playoffs) -- that includes this season through Week 14. |
