Farewell
Cris Carter's last home game with the Vikings was a 33-3 loss to the Jaguars. Following a tumultuous season in which he was often filmed yelling at teammates and coaches on the sidelines, Carter voided his contract with the Vikings, opting for free agency so he could sign with a team closer to winning a Super Bowl. When those plans didn't work out, Carter announced his retirement from the NFL on May 21, 2002. Carter played 12 seasons for the Vikings.

Cris Carter makes his final appearance as a Viking at the Metrodome.
