Bucs outside linebacker Shaq Barrett has been named NFC Defensive Player of the Week after his three-sack performance against the Panthers. He's the first Bucs player to receive the honor since 2015.

Source tells me that the Redskins are planning to sign former Bucs outside linebacker Noah Spence tomorrow. Spence worked out for them last week. He also worked out for the Bears today, along with the Bills two weeks ago.

A flurry of roster moves for the Saints on Tuesday. They placed backup WR Keith Kirkwood on injured reserve, released backup DT Taylor Stallworth, re-signed QB J.T. Barrett IV to their practice squad (per source, as first reported by the NFL Network) and released DB Terrell Williams from their practice squad. They still have two open roster spots, so there will be more to come when they begin practicing in Seattle on Wednesday. WR Austin Carr should play a bigger role in the wake of Kirkwood's injury. We don't know the status of WR Tre'Quan Smith's ankle injury yet. If he isn't expected to play Sunday, the Saints could promote undrafted rookie WRs Emmanuel Butler or Lil'Jordan Humphrey from their practice squad.

The 49ers made a change at long snapper on Tuesday afternoon. They released Colin Holba and signed veteran Jon Condo. Incumbent Kyle Nelson still has four more games on his suspension before he can return but it's expected that it will be his job when he returns.

The Texans waived punter Trevor Daniel and signed Bryan Anger to replace him. Anger was with the Texans during the preseason. Daniel ranked 20th in the NFL in net average punt yards through two games this season.

Bucs coach Bruce Arians on players asking their teams for trades: "We don't have anybody like that...The teams I've been on, we've never had those types of things. That seems to be ‘vogue' all of a sudden. I hope it changes," Arians said. I asked how he feels about players using social media to push that process. "I'm not a fan of it."

Bucs cornerback Vernon Hargreaves called Saquon Barkley "the best I've ever seen." He said, "His vision — you turn the film on and it's like, ‘OK he's bottled up, OK he's not bottled up, OK he's bottled up, OK, touchdown — it's ridiculous." Hargreaves didn't get to face him when the Bucs were in New York last year — he was on IR then with a shoulder injury.

Bucs coach Bruce Arians on what last week's road win did for them: "I think it was big for their confidence. I had the confidence all along. It really depends on them, the locker room. I think their confidence is pretty high right now. We talked about, 'We have to practice the same this week after a win as we did after a loss.' The sense of urgency can't leave."
