The Panthers placed cornerback Natrell Jamerson (foot) on injured/reserve and signed wide receiver DeAndrew White to the 53-man roster from the practice squad. They also signed wide receiver Braxton Miller to the practice squad.

Damon Harrison said "no hard feelings at all" when the New York Giants traded him to Detroit in the middle of last season. He's been around long enough to understand that the two sides (both he and the club) did what was best for them and "we went our separate ways." Harrison will face his old team for the first time Sunday (part of a lengthy group of ex-Giants front seven players on Detroit, including Devon Kennard and Romeo Okwara).

The Giants signed LB Devante Downs from the practice squad. They waived TE Garrett Dickerson. Another head-scratcher. They kept an unhealthy Dickerson on active roster first few weeks, then played him for a total of nine offensive and three special teams snaps before waiving him.

Jets stock-market report: DOWN — QB Sam Darnold (he saw dead people; 5 turnovers); HC Adam Gase (poor job in every aspect), LT Chuma Edoga (team-low pass-block win rate), WR Robby Anderson (CB Stephon Gilmore pitched a perfect game, allowed 0.0 passer rating), CB Darryl Roberts (6 targets, 6 completions), CB Trumaine Johnson (TD allowed). UP — RB Le'Veon Bell (season-high 70 rush yards).

Jets defensive snap counts (based on 79): DL — Phillips 51, L. Williams 48, Q. Williams 40, McLendon 39, Fatukasi 32, Willis 23; LB — Cashman 71, Mosley 65, Jenkins 56, Basham 42, Copeland 31, Langi 7; DB — Adams 79, Johnson 75, Roberts 75, Maye 75, Poole 55, Hairston 5. Analysis: Mosley removed late from the debacle; not injury-related, per Adam Gase. But Mosley admitted his previously injured groin nagged him throughout the game.

On the one-year anniversary of the trade for Amari Cooper, owner and general manager Jerry Jones is thinking long term with the receiver. “I have no reason to think Amari Cooper won't finish his career with the Dallas Cowboys,” Jones said on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas. Negotiations have not yet led to a deal with Cooper, who has 38 catches for 621 yards and five touchdowns this season.

Jets offensive snap counts (based on 53): QB — Darnold 53; RB — Bell 49, Montgomery 6, Powell 4; WR — Anderson 48, Crowder 42, Thomas 37, Smith 15, Berrios 10; TE — Griffin 43, Wesco 5, Brown 3; OL — Shell 53, Lewis 53, Edoga 53, Winters 51, Harrison 33, Kalil 23, Compton 2. Analysis: Kalil and Winters limited due to injuries. Adam Gase abandoned two-TE package; probably would've helped with pass protection.

Speaking on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas, Jerry Jones was asked about the importance of a good relationship between the owner and head coach. “Is it important that you have a ‘Yes man' there from any perspective? It's important not to have a, ‘Yes man, there,” Jones said. “Jason Garrett is not a ‘Yes man.' I don't say that, must-me protest. I say that because he's not. Is Jason respectful of the order of things? Of course he is.”

Draft projection update via ESPN's FPI: Dolphins now have 73.5% chance at No.1 overall pick with their own selection. A drop from last week because of how competitive they've been over last two games. Miami still big favorites, but Cincinnati is lurking. Bengals are 2nd with 15.4% shot at No.1, per FPI. Dolphins other picks are projected at No.16 (via Pittsburgh) and No.26 (via Houston), per FPI.

The Jets are 1-5, so forget about the playoffs. They needed to upset the Patriots to keep alive slim postseason hopes. What now? "It's bad to just give up," DL Leonard Williams said. "I definitely don't see that in anybody on this team." That will be Adam Gase's challenge over the final 10 games.
