The Raiders used their first-round pick on the Florida State kicker, thinking that their only concern (albeit a sizeable one) would be his off-field behavior. A so-so start to the preseason suggested they might have other reasons to worry, but Janikowski showed exactly why he has taken with the 17th overall pick in a 23-17 win over Detroit, making all three field goals and booming a kickoff five yards into the end zone. Now that the Raiders know he can kick, they need him to kick his old late-night habits.
