Source: Jordan Reed out vs. Falcons

Washington Redskins tight end Jordan Reed will miss his fourth consecutive game Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons because of a concussion, a league source confirmed to ESPN.com.

The Redskins also are considering holding Reed out of their final two games this season, according to the source.

ESPN 980 in Washington earlier reported that Reed would not play Sunday.

Reed was unable to practice this week, which is why he was highly unlikely to play Sunday. In previous weeks, he was at least limited in practice. Reed suffered two concussions in his college career at the University of Florida.

Not having Reed has had an impact on Washington's passing game. Reed, who had become a trustworthy target for Robert Griffin III, would have helped quarterback Kirk Cousins, who is making his first start of the season Sunday.

Tight end Fred Davis likely will be active again. Davis, a former starter, has not made much of an impact in Reed's absence.

The Redskins also have tight end Logan Paulsen, known mostly for his blocking.
