TAMPA, Fla. -- Offensive coordinator Jeff Tedford will return as the Buccaneers' playcaller when the team hosts the Rams on Sunday.
Tedford had an unspecified medical procedure two weeks ago. He attended Sunday's season-opening loss to Carolina, but did not call plays. The duty fell to quarterbacks coach Marcus Arroyo.
Team officials said Tedford acted as an "extra set of eyes" on Sunday and offered limited input, but coach Lovie Smith said Monday that Tedford has been fully cleared to return to work. Smith said Tedford was in the office all day Monday.
"We were really kind of gearing toward him being ready this week," Smith said. "He's in the office. He was in there early this morning, full-time, ready to go, leading the meetings. Hopefully, we're back on track. We need Jeff out there, of course."
