Marshawn Lynch first athlete to appear in 'Call of Duty' game

"Beast Mode" now is in a video game, and Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch is the cover boy, in his full "Call of Duty" character, for ESPN The Magazine's first eSports Issue, which hits newsstands Friday.

Lynch is a gaming enthusiast, but now he's actually a character in the highly successful video game. It captures his imagination and carries his likeness, making Lynch the first athlete to appear in a "Call of Duty" game. This one is titled "Call of Duty: Black Ops III" and is set for release in early November.

The link to the cover is here. And a video clip showing how Lynch's body was scanned to make the character, along with the body suit that was used to chart his movements, is here.

"I think the whole aspect of the game is Beast Mode,'' Lynch said.

ESPN The Magazine provides an exclusive account of the making of his character in "The Whole Game is Beast Mode."
