Chiefs lose WR Jeremy Maclin, DE Mike DeVito to concussions

MINNEAPOLIS -- Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Jeremy Maclin was taken to the locker room after hitting his head on the artificial turf in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 16-10 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid said after the game that Maclin suffered a concussion.

Maclin hit his head on the turf while trying to catch a pass with cornerback Captain Munnerlyn in tight coverage. After being attended to on the field, Maclin got to his feet and started to walk off on his own. He then slumped to one knee before reaching the sideline and eventually was assisted from the field.

Maclin had one catch for 39 yards before the injury. He is the Chiefs' leader with 37 catches and 522 yards.

The Chiefs have received little from their wide receivers other than Maclin this season. The other four receivers have totaled 28 catches, but one of the receivers, Albert Wilson, had the Chiefs' only touchdown on Sunday, on a 42-yard screen pass.

Another Chiefs player, defensive end Mike DeVito, also left Sunday's game because of a concussion.
