Lawrence Wilson suspended

New Orleans Saints linebacker Lawrence Wilson was suspended one game by the NFL for violating the league's substance-abuse policy, the team announced Friday.

Wilson will be suspended without pay and also will be fined an additional game check, The Times-Picayune reported.

Wilson was a sixth-round pick of the Carolina Panthers in 2011, and spent most of last season with the team's practice squad. He was picked up by the Saints in May.
