Reports: Brian Cushing breaks leg

A year after he tore his ACL, Houston Texans linebacker Brian Cushing again may be facing a season-ending knee injury.

According to multiple reports, Cushing is out for the year after suffering a broken left leg and a torn LCL in his knee.

Cushing went down in the third quarter after the helmet of Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles hit the linebacker's surgically repaired left knee.

Cushing remained on the ground as trainers examined the knee, the same one on which he suffered a torn ACL in Week 5 of the 2012 season. He was helped off the field, unable to put any pressure on his left leg, then a cart picked him up from the sideline and took him into the locker room for evaluation.

Cushing was on crutches after the game and said he would wait to speak to the media until after he has an MRI on Monday.

The Texans head into their bye week at 2-5 following Sunday's 17-16 loss.
