One day after Jordan Love landed on the reserve/COVID-19 list, the Packers elevated Kurt Benkert to the active roster as a COVID-19 replacement and signed QB Danny Etling to the practice squad. Benkert could end up being the backup QB on Sunday vs. Chicago and might get the bulk of the practice reps this week if Aaron Rodgers' fractured toe still requires rest.

Packers place quarterback Love on COVID-19 list

Green Bay Packers backup quarterback Jordan Love, who has been taking most of the midweek practice reps while Aaron Rodgers treats and rests his fractured pinkie toe, was placed on the NFL's COVID-19 list on Monday.

Packers coach Matt LaFleur said Aaron Rodgers was "getting treatment and doing everything he can to be 100 percent" with his fractured toe. To LaFleur's knowledge, Rodgers never did opt for surgery during the bye week. As for practice, LaFleur will "see where he's at this week" but if he doesn't practice he still believes Rodgers will play at a high level.

Matt LaFleur, in his return from the bye, said David Bakhtiari, Za'Darius Smith and Jaire Alexander could "potentially" return to practice this week. "They're all recovering from different things … I wouldn't lump them all into the same category."

Linebacker De'Vondre Campbell, one of the stars of the Packers defense, was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Tuesday after testing positive for the virus. With the Packers (9-3) on their bye this week, it's possible he could get through the protocols without missing a game.

Packers coach Matt LaFleur on Aaron Rodgers' fractured toe situation heading into the bye: "I don't know where that's at. I know he's gathering other opinions. so we'll see where that goes."
