Penalties killed the Saints in the first half — 7 of them for 52 yards, including three of them during Atlanta's 17-play touchdown drive. Saints WR Michael Thomas was also flagged for grabbing a face mask shortly before halftime, forcing the Saints to settle for a FG. Atlanta leads 13-6, and the Saints will need to play a lot cleaner in the second half.

Saints CB Marshon Lattimore walked back to the locker room after being evaluated by the training staff. So far he has done an excellent job while shadowing Falcons WR Julio Jones. Jones hasn't caught a pass — and Lattimore separated him from the ball once with a big hit on a short pass. However, Lattimore did get flagged for defensive holding against Jones on Atlanta's touchdown drive.
