BOX SCORE
BOSTON (AP) The Ottawa Senators are peaking at the right time
as they pursue the top seed in the Eastern Conference.
Shawn McEachern and Radek Bonk scored two goals each, lifting
the Senators over the Boston Bruins 5-3 on Thursday night.

Ottawa, which lost to New Jersey on Tuesday, has dropped
back-to-back games only once this season. The Senators are 10-3-1-2
since the All-Star break.
"There is no doubt depth has been one of our key ingredients
this year," Senators coach Jacques Martin said. "We have players
that have speed and that can finish."
The Bruins lost for the third time this week and have lost two
straight at home after winning five in a row.
"Two veteran defenseman let us down tonight," Bruins coach
Mike Keenan said. "You find out what people are made of in
pressure-packed situations."
After the Bruins tied it 3-3 with two goals in the first 1:34 of
the third period, Ottawa regained the lead when Marian Hossa scored
his 27th goal. Hossa took a pass from Martin Havlat, and slipped
the puck past goalie John Grahame at 5:20.
"We were not playing as confident as we have in the past and it
showed in the first period," Bruins captain Jason Allison said.
"We don't want to panic, but we have to start winning."
Havlat had two assists for the Senators, who with 89 points are
15 shy of breaking their franchise record set in the 1998-99
season. Ottawa has 15 games remaining.
Bonk capped off the scoring for Ottawa with his second goal of
the night, at 11:42 on the power play.
"The power play stepped up when we needed it after giving up
the two goal lead," Bonk said. "Any game when you can have all
your lines contributing, makes a big difference."
Joe Thornton scored his 29th goal on the power play to cut
Ottawa's lead to 3-2 just 26 seconds into the period. Thornton has
a point in 12 of 13 games.
Brian Rolston tied it at 3 when he knocked in a rebound at 1:34
after Allison was denied three times by Patrick Lalime.
Allison, who had two assists, has three goals and three assists
in four games and leads the Bruins with 76 points.
McEachern gave the Senators a 1-0 lead when he converted a drop
pass from Alexei Yashin, scoring over the Grahame's shoulder 6:40
in.
McEachern has four goals in two games and is second on the team
with 27, trailing Yashin who has 31. Yashin has 41 points in the
last 28 games.
"Yashin has been unbelievable since the All-Star break,"
McEachern said. "He and (Daniel) Alfredsson have been clicking
with me for a while now."
Mike Knuble scored his seventh goal for Boston.
