Canadiens win again on road

RECAP | BOX SCORE

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) – Martin Rucinsky was the latest to ruin a Tampa Bay Lightning home game.

Rucinsky scored on a penalty shot and Patrice Brisebois had the winning goal for the second time in three games as Montreal beat Tampa Bay 6-2 on Thursday night.

The Canadiens are 3-0-1-1 in their last five road games, while the Lightning have lost four straight at home following a 6-0-0-1 run at the Ice Palace.

Brisebois gave Montreal a 3-2 lead with a power-play goal with 1:59 left in the second period. Oleg Petrov added two goals in the third period and Chad Kilger also scored.

Brisebois, who came in with the worst plus-minus rating in the NHL at minus-29, has six goals in eight games against Tampa Bay since last season.

Lightning forward Ben Clymer had the only goal of the first period, scoring on a power play at 11:17. Rucinsky tied it with his fourth goal in as many games, beating Kevin Weekes on a penalty shot at 4:11 of the second.

"It's nice to get a goal that way," said Rucinsky, who also had two assists. "I'm just happy to be successful. I'll take that."

Weekes thought he would stop Rucinsky's try.

"I usually make the save on a breakaway, not to discredit him in any way," Weekes said. "He made a good move."

Nils Ekman restored the Lightning lead at the 10:57 mark, but Richard Zednik tied it again just under two minutes later.

"I didn't make the save on either (breakaway)," Weekes said. "If I at least made one of them, then I still would have been in pretty good position."

Game notes
Tampa Bay centers Vincent Lecavalier and Brad Richards were selected to represent Canada in the world championships April 28 through May 13 in Germany. ... Lightning defenseman Andrei Zyuzin returned after missing three games with a concussion. ... Montreal center Jan Bullis injured a knee in a collision with Lightning left wing Gordie Dwyer, who received a five-minute kneeing penalty and a game misconduct.
