LOS ANGELES -- All-Star defenseman Rob Blake will miss the
Los Angeles Kings' game Thursday night against Carolina because of a
bruised right shoulder.
Blake, who is at a contract impasse with the Kings and is
scheduled to become a free agent after the season, hurt his
shoulder in Tuesday night's 3-3 tie with the Chicago Blackhawks.
X-rays taken after the game were negative, and Blake was
examined again by team doctors Wednesday. He didn't practice Thursday morning but did receive treatment on the shoulder.
He will be re-evaluated on Friday.
