TORONTO Owen Nolan rejoins the San Jose Sharks on
Thursday night following an 11-game suspension by the NHL for
hitting Grant Marshall of Dallas in the head.

He returns to the ice in Ottawa, where the Sharks play the
Eastern Conference-leading Senators. Nolan lost $335,294 in salary
during his suspension.
"Boring, very boring," Nolan said of his time on the
sidelines. "It's tough being a healthy scratch. It's different
when you're injured and can't play because there's not much you can
do about it."
Nolan was disciplined by the league Feb. 9 for striking Marshall
with his forearm. The Stars' forward was about to leave the ice on
a line change with five seconds left in the first period.
Marshall sustained a slight concussion and spent a night in the
hospital. He missed his team's next game.
Nolan insists he will not change his style.
"I'm going to be aggressive, I'm going to try to score and I'm
going to be physical," he said. "That's what my team wants out of
me and that's what I'm going to do."
Nolan had 18 goals and 22 assists in 38 games before the
suspension. He missed 10 games last fall with an abdominal injury.
The Sharks go into the game against Toronto in first place in
the Pacific Division, one point ahead of the Stars.
"The toughest part of the whole suspension was that I felt I
kind of let my team down because it's such a tight division,"
Nolan said. "But the guys have backed me up and they've got the
job done. It's my part now to come in and provide some energy in
the home stretch."
