Hartley: Forsberg's bruised arm 'very minor'

DENVER Peter Forsberg, the Colorado Avalanche's
second-leading scorer, has a bruised right arm but might play on
Saturday when the Avalanche visit the Boston Bruins.
Forsberg was injured in the first period of Thursday night's 3-1
victory over the Blues in St. Louis.
Forsberg didn't play the last two periods, but he insisted he
could play against Boston in defenseman Ray Bourque's homecoming
game.
"The injury is very minor," coach Bob Hartley said after the
game.
Avalanche spokesman Damen Zier said Friday that Forsberg's
status was day-to-day and that the talented forward "may play
(Saturday)."
Forsberg, who has 27 goals and 59 assists, was hurt midway
through the period when he took a slash from the Blues' Tyson Nash.
"It's not bad," Forsberg said. "He broke his stick on my arm,
and it was a little tough to move my arm after that. But
everything's fine. It should be fine in a couple days."
The Avalanche were already without goalie Patrick Roy (knee
tendinitis) and defenseman Rob Blake (sprained knee).
Forsberg was selected Wednesday to play on Sweden's Olympic
team.
