ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Minnesota Wild forward Marian Gaborik said he used poor judgment this month when he was cited for underage drinking and driving. According to a police report, an officer in suburban Woodbury stopped Gaborik's car on March 4 because the license plate registration tab had expired. The officer smelled alcohol on Gaborik, who turned 20 on Feb. 14, and administered a breath test that showed Gaborik's blood alcohol level was 0.055 percent, below the legal limit of 0.10 percent, so he was issued a misdemeanor citation and released. Gaborik expressed remorse after Friday's morning practice. "I feel sorry for making a poor decision," he said. "I'm disappointed in myself. I've learned from my mistake." Wild general manager Doug Risebrough said he decided not to take any disciplinary action after discussing the incident with Gaborik. "I saw how extremely disappointed he was," Risebrough said. "He explained how much he regretted what he did, and that was enough for me." Gaborik scored his team-high 29th goal in a 3-1 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday night. | ||
