Red Wings ticket prices to stay the same

ESPN.com news services

Detroit Red Wings: The Red Wings won't raise ticket prices next season, following an unexpected early exit from the playoffs.

"Our fans are a key factor in our success and it was decided by ownership to keep ticket prices the same for the upcoming season," senior vice president Jim Devellano said Thursday. "Our season ticket holders and overall fan base can be assured that we will continue to work hard to win another Stanley Cup."

The Red Wings won the title last year and were considered strong contenders to repeat, but as the second seed they were swept in the first round of the postseason by No. 7 Anaheim.

"We are very appreciative of the tremendous support from our fans over the past decade in which the Red Wings have produced the best overall record in the NHL and three Stanley Cup championship teams," Devellano said.
