Brashear, a 35-year-old left wing, joined the Capitals as a free agent
last summer, adding toughness to a team that is rebuilding around
rising star Alex Ovechkin. Brashear ranks fourth in the NHL in penalty
minutes with 125. He also has two goals and five assists.

Brashear has played for Montreal, Vancouver, Philadelphia and
Washington in 13 NHL seasons. He has 77 goals, 109 assists and
2,290 penalty minutes in 821 career games.

In February 2000, then-Canuck Brashear sustained a severe
concussion when he was hit in the head with a stick by Boston's
Marty McSorley.
