BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Veteran forward Mike Grier has agreed to a one-year contract with the Buffalo Sabres.
The deal Monday brings Grier back to the team he played with from 2004-06. He was considered a leader on the Sabres club that reached the Eastern Conference finals in 2006.
The following summer, Grier rejected an offer to re-sign with the Sabres and joined the San Jose Sharks.
The 34-year-old Detroit native has 345 points in 914 NHL games with Edmonton, Washington, Buffalo and San Jose.
