Ryan Getzlaf has fractures, on IR

The Anaheim Ducks have placed forward Ryan Getzlaf on injured reserve after he was diagnosed with multiple nasal sinus fractures, the team announced Thursday.

Getzlaf was hit by a puck on the forehead during Monday's game against Phoenix, and a CT scan revealed the damage on Wednesday.

The Ducks said Getzlaf had another CT scan Friday, which showed that the fractures are non-displaced and stable. However, the team said that further evaluation is needed to determine how much time he will have to miss.

The Ducks host the the Philadelphia Flyers on Friday.

Getzlaf has 37 points in 40 games this season.
