The Pittsburgh Penguins re-signed forward Pascal Dupuis Tuesday to a two-year deal worth $3 million.
Dupuis would have become an unrestricted free agent Friday.
Dupuis, 32, had 37 points (17 goals, 20 assists) in 81 regular-season games this past season, and was part of the penalty-killing unit ranked No. 1 in the league.
The 6-foot-1, 205-pound forward has spent the past three-plus seasons with the Penguins since being traded from the then-Atlanta Thrashers in February 2008. He was part of the Penguins' 2009 Stanley Cup championship team.
