ESPN Fantasy Projection: Kahkonen played well in short spurts during his time with Minnesota from 2019-2021, but his first full season with San Jose in 2022-23 wasn't great. Kahkonen went 19-20-7 with career-worst marks in both GAA (3.85) and save percentage (.883) while splitting time with James Reimer. Kahkonen played particularly poor late in the year, posting a 4.42 GAA in his final nine appearances. His poor numbers weren't entirely Kahkonen's fault, but that's little solace to fantasy managers. Reimer is gone, and former Devil Mackenzie Blackwood has entered the fold. It's impossible to have confidence in either netminder considering the Sharks traded their best player (Erik Karlsson) this offseason and will be icing a roster that is no better and probably worse than what we saw last year.
