ESPN Fantasy Projection: With Torey Krug and Zdeno Chara having departed Boston last season, McAvoy got his chance to be the top dog on the B's back end. As a result, he received a personal-best 24:00 of average ice time and scored at the best clip (30 points in 51 games) of his four-year NHL career, which would have amounted to close to 50 points over a full season. Not much should change in 2021-22, as the American rearguard should continue to see plenty of secondary scoring opportunities behind one of the league's best lines (Brad Marchand, Patrice Bergeron, David Pastrnak) and No. 1 power-play units. Go ahead and peg McAvoy for 40-45 points as a floor with the potential for quite a bit more if he takes the next step in his development in his age-24 season.
