ESPN Fantasy Projection: The No. 1 overall pick from the 2020 NHL Draft, Lafreniere failed to dazzle in his professional debut on Broadway, mustering 12 goals and 21 points in 56 games. Bizarrely, Lafreniere didn't score a single point on the power play in 1:17 of average PP time, and his 13:53 of average ice time ranked 25th among league rookies. All told, it seemed like the young star from Quebec just wasn't ready for prime time, but there's reason for optimism heading into his sophomore campaign -- namely due to the fact he finished the season with seven points in his last nine games. With a regular top-six, left-wing role on a scoring line next to either Mika Zibanejad or Artemi Panarin (which is a likely scenario), Lafreniere should have every opportunity to continue to develop while receiving plenty of looks offensively.
