News: 1 day agoOshie suffered a nagging soft tissue injury late last season but has fully recovered and is ready for training camp, Tarik El-Bashir of The Athletic reports.
Spin: Oshie managed a goal and four points in five postseason games despite the injury but has put the issue behind him. The 34-year-old is a key cog in Washington's offense -- particularly on the power-play where he posted 17 points last season-- and should be able to return to his usual levels of production if he can stay healthy, making him a worthwhile selection across the spectrum of fantasy formats.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: The definition of reliable, Oshie potted at least 20 goals (23) and 40 points (43) for a third straight year. His 13 power-play goals were a new career high, and he added at least 70 hits (70) for the eighth straight campaign. Oshie turns 34 this December, but he's been fairly durable for the majority of his career and plays for a Washington team that still has plenty of offensive firepower. Fantasy managers should take things on a year-by-year basis, but there's really no reason to expect any sort of significant decline in Oshie's production at this point.
