EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Philadelphia Flyers center Daymond Langkow missed Game 3 of the Eastern Conference final against New Jersey on Thursday night because of a concussion.

The center, who had not missed a game since joining the Philadelphia Flyers in December 1998, was hurt in a collision with New Jersey's Scott Stevens about a minute after scoring the winning goal in the Flyers' 4-3 victory in Game 2 on Tuesday night.

Langkow, who has five goals in the playoffs, had played in 138 consecutive regular-season games and 19 playoff games.

Devils center John Madden also missed the game. He hurt his right knee late in the third period in a collision with Philadelphia's Keith Primeau. He'll be out 2-3 weeks.

Steve Brule, who spent the last five years with Albany of the AHL, made his NHL debut. A 30-goal scorer in four of his five seasons with the River Rats, he replaced Madden as the center for Jay Pandolfo and Claude Lemieux.
