Monday, May 13 Updated: May 14, 10:44 PM ET As expected, Sundin misses Game 7 vs. Sens Associated Press TORONTO -- Captain Mats Sundin was ruled out of the Toronto Maple Leafs' Game 7 against the Ottawa Senators because of his broken left wrist. "Mats is not playing," team spokesman Pat Park said after Sundin took part in Tuesday's morning skate. Sundin said Monday he would meet with doctors before determining if his wrist could hold up for Tuesday night's playoff game -- a 3-0 win for the Maple Leafs. "The way it feels on the ice, I probably won't play," he said Monday. Sundin broke his wrist when struck by a puck on April 18 in the first period of Toronto's first playoff game against the New York Islanders. The cast Sundin was wearing was removed last week, and he tried stickhandling and shooting Saturday. In practice Monday, he could only direct the puck weakly because he still does not have full flexibility. "We build everything off hope," coach Pat Quinn said, "but the realistic part is that he isn't ready." |
