With so much going on in today's NHL, it's easy to forget that a lot has happened in past years as well. Here's a look at some great moments in NHL history during the period Feb. 14-20:

Feb. 14, 1977: Philadelphia Flyers rookie Al Hill registered two goals and three assists, setting an NHL record for points by a player in his first NHL game. Hill broke the previous record of four held by Alex Smart, Earl "Dutch" Reibel and Roland Eriksson.

Feb. 15, 1980: Edmonton Oilers center Wayne Gretzky tied Billy Taylor's NHL record for assists in one game by assisting on seven goals in an 8-2 victory over the Washington Capitals.

Feb. 16, 1969: Detroit Red Wings center Alex Delvecchio tallied an assist to become the third player in NHL history to amass 1,000 career points in an 8-3 victory over the Los Angeles Kings.

Feb. 17, 1923: Cy Denneny of the Ottawa Senators scored his 143rd career goal to pass Joe Malone for the all-time NHL scoring leadership. Denneny, whose goal helped the Senators to a 2-0 victory over the Montreal Canadiens, owned the mark until 1933-34, when Montreal's Howie Morenz took over the lead with his 251st career goal.

Feb. 18, 1928: Alex Connell of the Ottawa Senators recorded his sixth consecutive shutout, still an NHL record, in a 1-0 victory over the Montreal Canadiens.

Feb. 19, 1995: Left wing Luc Robitaille, then with the Pittsburgh Penguins, recorded his 400th career goal in an 3-3 tie with the Buffalo Sabres at Civic Arena. Robitaille scored his milestone goal against Sabres netminder Dominik Hasek.

Feb. 20, 1944: The Toronto Maple Leafs and Chicago Blackhawks played the only scoreless, penalty-free game in NHL history. The game, officiated by referee Bill Chadwick, took one hour and 55 minutes to play.
