Dominik Hasek had six Vezina trophies. He had a lower NHL regular-season goals against average than the other goaltending greats -- Ken Dryden, Glenn Hall, Jacques Plante, Patrick Roy and Terry Sawchuk. He had a lower postseason GAA than the same group.
But ESPN.com's Terry Frei writes that Hasek needed his name on the Cup to validate his career, which ended Tuesday when Hasek announced his retirement. Now that he has that, Hasek's legacy compares even more favorably to the all-time best.
