Olympic failure Although Canada's fourth-place finish in the 1998 Winter Olympics left Gretzky without an Olympic medal, the Great One still had a stellar international career. Gretzky helped Team Canada win the 1984, 1987 and 1991 Canada Cup tournaments that featured the best players from the top hockey nations in the world.	Gretzky hangs his head after the Czech Republic defeated Canada in the shootout of the semifinal game. Strangely, Gretzky was not chosen as one of Team Canada's five shooters.
