No. 99 retired Wayne Gretzky waves to Edmonton fans while being driven around the rink during a ceremony in his honor prior to the opening of the NHL 1999-2000 hockey season October 1, 1999. Gretzky, who retired after 20 years as the NHL's premier player, began his career in Edmonton and played 10 years for the team, winning four Stanley Cups.	Gretzky comes home to Edmonton.
