A dynasty begins
Beginning in 1984, Gretzky led the Edmonton Oilers to four Stanley Cups in five seasons. He also won the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP in 1985 and 1988. Gretzky also holds the NHL playoff career records for goals, assists, points, game-winning goals and three-or-more-goal games.

Gretzky rejoices after leading the Oilers past the New York Islanders for their first Stanley Cup in 1984.
