Penguins sign forward Beau Bennett, rookie Dominik Simon to deals

PITTSBURGH -- Beau Bennett is sticking in Pittsburgh. The Penguins signed Bennett, a restricted free-agent forward, to a one-year, $800,000 deal Wednesday.

Bennett, 23, had four goals and eight assists in 49 games last season for the Penguins, but he has struggled to stay healthy or play with consistency during his brief career.

Bennett played 26 games during his rookie season in 2012-13 and 21 games in 2013-14. He has 10 goals and 23 assists in 96 career games but has an extensive amount of time on injured reserve with various injuries.

The Penguins also signed rookie forward Dominik Simon to a three-year entry deal. Pittsburgh took Simon in the fifth round of the 2015 draft. Simon will move from the Czech Republic to North America to play this season.
