Bruins' Adam McQuaid to undergo surgery, miss eight weeks

Boston Bruins defenseman Adam McQuaid is expected to be out eight weeks with broken right fibula.

McQuaid was injured while blocking a shot during Thursday's 6-3 win over the Vancouver Canucks. He will have surgery Monday.

He had posted one assist in six games this season. McQuaid, who is playing in his ninth NHL season, appeared in a career-high 77 games in 2016-17.
