Flyers invite Michael Nylander to camp

The Philadelphia Flyers have invited former NHL center Michael Nylander to their training camp on a professional tryout basis, the team confirmed Wednesday.

Nylander, who will turn 39 in October, last played in the NHL for Washington during the 2008-09 season.

Nylander enjoyed tremendous success playing alongside new Flyers winger Jaromir Jagr when the two played in New York for the Rangers. Jagr signed a one-year deal to return to the NHL with Philadelphia earlier this summer.

In 920 career NHL games, Nylander has 209 goals and 679 assists.
