Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby, who is under NCAA investigation for making bets via a gambling app, has retained the noted lawyer Jeffrey Kessler to try to regain his college eligibility, sources tell me and Adam Schefter. If Sorsby and Kessler are unsuccessful, declaring for the NFL's supplemental draft would be an option. Sorsby would have until June 30 to declare for the supplemental draft.

The Jets exercised the fifth-year option for DE Will McDonald IV, the team leader in sacks (eight). McDonald, a 2023 first-round pick, is projected to make $13.8 million guaranteed in 2027. The Jets declined the option for DT Mazi Smith, whom they acquired from Dallas in the Quinnen Williams trade last November. Smith played sparingly last season. He remains under contract for 2026.

Sources: the Steelers placed the rare UFA tender on Aaron Rodgers, meaning that he can accept a 10 percent raise off last year's salary, which would pay him about $15 million this season. As another condition of the tender, Rodgers would only be able to sign with the Steelers once training camp begins.
