COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Atlanta Thrashers head coach Curt
Fraser and New York Rangers assistant Walt Kyle were selected
Thursday to be assistant coaches for the U.S. team at the world
hockey championships.
Fraser coached the second-year Thrashers to a 23-45-12-2 record
this season. Before joining the Thrashers he spent four seasons as
coach of Orlando of the IHL.
Kyle just completed his first season as an assistant with the
New York Rangers under coach Ron Low. Before joining the Rangers,
he was the head coach for Hamilton of the AHL, the Edmonton Oilers
top minor league affiliate, from 1998-00.
Kyle, who was also an assistant on the 1994 team, was head coach
of the U.S. squad that won bronze in 1992 at the world junior
championships.
The International Ice Hockey Federation world championship runs
